Battlestar’s Shocking Mid-Season Finale

June 16th, 2008 by Jencala , Category : TV

Fans of Battlestar Galactica were left slack-jawed and in shock after the final moments of the mid-season finale. What promised, and lived-up to, be a fantastic ending to a roller coaster season did have its’ anti-climactic moments, especially the final trip to Earth. Though the final moments were shocking to say the least, the actual trip to Earth left much to be desired. After almost 4 seasons of searching, fans expected more from the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel.

The Spectacular Spider-Man: Natural Selection

March 12th, 2008 by Al , Category : TV

The Lizard

This is the first official image of The Lizard, the primary villain on this Saturday’s episode of “The Spectacular Spider-Man.” The episode, entitled “Natural Selection,” premieres March 15, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. ET/PT on Kids’ WB! on The CW.

Popular animation and video game voiceover actor Dee Bradley Baker provides the voice of Curt Connors/The Lizard. Baker’s credits include work on the hit shows “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” “SpongeBob SquarePants,” “Ben 10,” “The Fairly Oddparents” and hundreds of episodes within other animated series. Of note: For the Activision “Spider-Man” (2000) and “Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro” video games, Baker provided the voice for The Lizard, as well as several other villains.

In “Natural Selection,” Peter Parker and Spider-Man both must learn to own their choices when decisions made by Dr. Curt Connors transform Pete’s mentor into The Lizard.

I watched the premire episodes last week with my son. I was really suprised actually pretty impressed at how well the characters were being developed. It’s not your run of the mill/villian of the week cartoon show. My son had a great time watching too; which means it has enough story and plot for us older kids and keeps the little ones entertained as well. Winning formula guys! A++.

The Spectacular Spider-Man

February 11th, 2008 by Al , Category : TV

Just a quick reminder … The Spectacular Spider-Man premieres Saturday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. on Kids’ WB! on The CW. Also here is one of the first episode images to be released.

The Spectacular Spider-Man

The series will debut on Kids’ WB! with back-to-back episodes.

In “Survival of the Fittest” (10:00 a.m. ET/PT), summer is over for Peter Parker and school’s ready to start — both literally (it’s his junior year of high school), and in the real world of crime-fighting — as Spider-Man faces his first real challenge (The Enforcers) and his first real super-villain (Vulture). Peter Parker is voiced by actor/musician Josh Keaton, and Robert Englund (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”) voices Vulture. Victor Cook directed the script, which was written by Greg Weisman.

In “Interactions” (10:30 a.m. ET/PT), Peter Parker and Spider-Man both try to make connections. Nerdy Pete attempts to tutor the popular Liz Allan, while Spidey reaches out to stop a new menace: Electro. Alanna Ubach (“Legally Blonde,” “Waiting”) and popular video game and voiceover specialist Crispin Freeman provide the voices of Liz Allan and Electro, respectively. Troy Adomitis directed the script by Kevin Hopps.

Wolverine and the X-Men

February 11th, 2008 by Al , Category : TV

Marvel let this one out of the bag back in September. Just a couple of days ago the first trailer showed up on the web. I like the fact that Wolverine is pretty much in charge now. The series is speculated to air in fall 2008.

Here is the Series Synopsis:

When an explosive event shatters the lives of the X-Men and takes away their mentor, the beaten heroes walk away from it all. But then they’re given a rare glimpse into the future, and see a world in utter ruin, ruled by giant destructive robots – a world that spiraled out of control because the X-Men had given up. So now the most legendary of all X-Men takes the lead: Wolverine! Reuniting these broken heroes, Wolverine embarks on the ultimate mission – to prevent the world’s destruction. To rescue us from ourselves. To save the future.

Wow! Look at this. NBC just released a promo for season two of “Heroes.”

While it dosen’t give away much we see that Milo is now sporting a new shorter hair cut.  Also looks like Nathan is still alive and kicking. Wonder what else is going to happen this season. I can’t wait!

“Heroes” Season 2 begins Monday September 24.
