CloverField

If you went to see Transformers this past week then you are aware of the mystery trailer for the secret J.J. Abrams movie project known only as Cloverfield. Everyone is trying to play C.S.I. on this one speculating that it might be a new Godzilla movie(me included) or a “Lost” movie, still others have come up with the most absurd ideas under the sun like one guy in the theater who bet his friend 50 bucks that it was a new “Power Rangers” movie. For God sakes people calm down this is J.J. Abrams you knew he was going to do it to you if he ever did a big Hollywood movie. Sooner or later details will come out and everything will be explained. “Transformers” $30M First Day

Wednesday, July 4th, 2007 - Category : Movies

Transformers One Sheet

The numbers are starting to come in and from the looks of it we can look forward to a sequel . Transformers has taken in just under $30 million for its first full buisness day on Tuesday. Add that to the $8.8 million it earned on Monday evening preview screenings and it looks like Bay will have a happy 4th of July. That opening day figure is easily the all-time best Tuesday opening ever, and the fourth best opening day of 2007, trailing only the Spiderman-Shrek-Pirates trifecta ($59.8M, $38.4M & $42.9M respectively) in May. Well they can add another $9.00 to the till, Im on my way to see it today.

Also this week, what looks like the future website for the movie is now up. There is not a whole lot on the site right now but I like the direction they are going with it. It’s more of a company website for Stark Enterprises than a site for the movie. We will have to keep our eyes on it. In the mean time you can check the site out for yourself here.  StarkIronworks.com
