Variety is reporting that John Leguizamo has been cast in the new M. Night Shyamalan thriller “The Happening.”

The movie starts filming next month in Philadelphia and is scheduled for worldwide release June 13, 2008.

“The Happening” also stars Mark Wahlberg as a man who takes his family on the run when a natural disaster threatens to end the world. Leguizamo will play his best friend in the movie.
