Rob Liefeld and Image together againJuly 17th, 2007 by Al |

Ok. Let me start off by saying I don’t know how the heck I missed this one.
Last Wednesday Image Comics and Rob Liefeld confirmed an internet rumour that they will be reuniting for the release of a hardcover collection of a “re-mastered, re-scripted, and re-imagined” version of the original Image launch title Youngblood.
According to Newsarama Image says, the new book features, “a new cast of familiar faces”, including Shaft, Badrock, DieHard, Cougar, Johnny Panic, Doc Rocket, plus an all-new character.
The book is set for release later this year and will also feature a brand-new Joe Casey-written, Liefeld-drawn ending to the original Youngblood - Maximum Youngblood collection. In 2008 Image will put out a brand new monthly Youngblood series by Joe Casey and artist Derec Donovan.
Image Executive Director Eric Stephenson and current Image partner and Publisher Erik Larsen (Savage Dragon) chimed-in and had nothing but the highest hopes for Liefeld’s return to Image Comics.
Now I don’t know about you guys but Rob Liefeld truly does have a guardian angel watching over him. Even after all his trials and tribulations he still manages to find work in the comics industry. He even managed to shrug of the the title of the most hated man in comics. OUCH! While I am not a big fan of his art I do like the characters that he has created over the years. Well at least the ones he didn’t report ably swipe from other creators. You have to give Rob credit he is still around.
