If you’re a child of the 80’s then you most likely still remember some of the great cartoons and the catchy theme songs that came out of that by-gone era. Theme songs from cartoons like Transformer, G.I. Joe, He-Man and Thundercats all left a permanent mark in our minds and to this day for some reason we can still remember every lyric of the opening verse. They were awesome but the tragedy of it all is they honestly weren’t the best theme songs out there. Sure they were catchy, but if you would rate them on things like music or lyrics realistically they would fall far short of some other great themes that never quite stuck out.

In an effort to bring some justice to these forgotten theme songs we here at the WPD have compiled a list of the top 10 most underrated and unforgettable cartoon theme songs of the 80’s. Songs that ooze with creative talent and substance. Theme songs that we can honestly say “Damn that song rocks!!!”

#10-Denver the Last Dinosaur- Awesome guitar riffs on the intro but to bad I can’t say the same for the show.

#9-Jem and the Holograms- Cool theme song plus Jem was really hot!

#8-Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs- Hey any song that has a whip cracking as part of the chorus is got to be good!

#7-Ulysses 31-You can really hear the 80’s influence in this one. Really good song but all the floating dead people creeped me out!

#6-Might Orbots- Great theme song and strong animation, Voltron eat your heart out!!!

#5-M.A.S.K.-MA…MA…MA…M.A.S.K. is the mighty power that can save the dayyyy!!!!

#4-Pole Position-I’ll take Pole Position’s theme song over Top Gun’s “Highway to a Danger Zone” any day!

#3-Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors- Lighting Strikes!!!

#2-Bionic Six-BIONIC! BIONIC SIX!….Oh…Oh…Oh…Ohhhh….yeah I’m making this list!

#1-Galaxy Rangers-No Guts! No Glory! Rangers Are Forever! Excellent intro as well as ending credit music. Enjoy!
