The game of Roshambo or Rochambeau has taken a rather sick twist in modern day urban America. It used to be that two opponents dual it out picking rock, paper or scissors to win something (an object, money, bets, etc..) and that was the extent of the game. Now it seems though that some guys have put a new spin on the game.  In South Park inspired two or more male opponents take turns kicking, punching, squeezing, or kneeing each other in the groin until one of them gives up or falls down. The last one standing wins.
The TV series South Park is credited for popularizing this new version of the game. In the episode “Mecha-Streisand” of the animated TV show, Cartman and his friends play the game “I’ll Rochambeau you for it”, by kicking the opponent in the crotch. The first one to fall over loses the game. This of course means the first person to go is usually the winner.So next time you and your buddies can’t decide on what bar to hang out at or what movie to see I suggest you stick with the ole rock, paper or scissors version of Rochambeau. I guarantee that if anyone tries this version you will not make it past the first round.
