This is every guys’ worst nightmare; a needy, neurotic, nasty ex-girlfriend with superpowers. After all the big media events of X-Men, Bat Man, and Superman, we now have a keen little movie that asks the question: Do superheroes date? Do they get their hearts broken and get mad at being dumped? The answer is, of course they do. Superheroes have the same wants and needs as the rest of us poor fools.

This is your typical break-up movie with that little twist that makes it entertaining. Luke Wilson ( Hoot, The Family Stone, Legally Blond 2) plays Matt Saunders, a guy who always picks the wrong girl and manages to pick the ultimate wrong girl. He falls for Jenny Johnson, the secret identity of G-Girl, a super powered Super Girl clone. Uma Thurman (Kill Bill 1 &2, Be Cool, Pulp Fiction) plays G-Girl, super competent as a heroine and super needy as a person.

Anna Faris (Scary Movie 1, 2, 3 & 4, Brokeback Mountain, Lost in Translation) plays Hannah Lewis, Matt’s sweet co-worker who falls in love with Matt. When Matt breaks up with Jenny, she literally goes ballistic. She starts to do bad things to Matt’s life, in her own way. Then she blames Hannah for the break up. Then Eddie Izzard (Mystery Men, The Avengers, The Wild) plays Professor Bedlam, the evil super genus that has a thing for G-Girl, and talks Matt into helping him.

Ivan Reitman (Meatballs, Ghostbusters I & II, Six Days, Seven Nights) who is responsible for years of great entertainment directs and has great fun with this. The movie is written by Don Payne (The Simpson’s, Men Behaving Badly) who puts out a tight little script that makes a lot of inside comic book jokes.

This was not big budget film, but it is a lot of fun and that’s what comics are all about.
