Just keep telling yourself this is only a movie. At the screening I was at the first five minutes someone in theatre yelled out “Oh, No, that SOB didn’t just do that!” It’s that kind of a movie. If you get nauseous on Space Mountain, then take Dramamine before you buy your tickets.
Everyone has asked me is it like the second movie? I tell them and you emphatically No, This is ten times better than the first or second Film!
J J Abrams ( Lost, Alias, Felicity) directs this Thrill every fifteen minutes jet ride, from a script by Alex Kurtzman-(The Legend of Zorro, The Island and Alias)and Roberto Orici- (Alias, Xena
Warrior Princess) these fine gentlemen know how to write an action packed story that is still believable.
The film stars Tom Cruise-(War of the Worlds, Minority Report, Vanilla Sky ) once again as Ethan Hunt the semi-retired super troubleshooter. He is looking to settle down with the love of his life, but BAD things happen to GOOD people. In this case the bad thing is a nasty guy named Owen Davian played by Philip Seymour Hoffman-( Sent of a Woman, Boogie Nights, Cold Mountain) Also returning are Ving Rhames-( Pulp Fiction, Striptease andDave) Keri Russell- (The Upside of Anger, Felicity, Honey I Blew up The Kid) shows up and plays a damsel in distress. Michelle Monaghan- (North Country, Mr. & Mr. Smith, The Bourne Supremacy) plays Ethan’s new love and becomes a target for Owens’s wrath. Also appearing is Maggie Q-( Chek nlan dak Gung, Maang lung and Rush hour 2) its hard to decide what is hotter her or the screaming orange car she drives in the film.
This is a great big honking comic book of a movie. Something very interesting is the fact that J.J Abrams as well Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orici are signed to do Star Trek XI but Abrams wanted to keep the project top secret (Umbra level). Word got out and now he is talking about not doing it. Also Kurtzman and Orici are signed on to write the Transformer Movie with Michael Bay directing. This should be a comic lovers dream.
